A marble plaque on an interior wall:
|
In memory of 2/Lieut. Charles Gallie Royal Scots Fusiliers attached Royal Flying Corps Pte. Harold Drew Pte. William Edwards Cpl. Robert Hull of this parish who fell in the Great War 1914-1918 |
Naturally, there are a number of memorials on the walls to successive
members of the Coventry family, some memorials moved here from the old church
when this one was built in 1763. The Coventry family is sufficiently well
documented to be in no need of special recording here. (See the book "The Coventrys of Croome", by Catherine Gordon, published by Phillimore in association with the National Trust, 2000. ISBN 1 86077 139 4)
However, there is also this memorial:
|
In Loving Memory of George William Reginald Victor 10th of Coventry born 30th September 1900 Killed in action in France 27th May 1940 |
The Earl of Coventry was a Lieutenant in the Worcestershire regiment. He can also be found listed on the Earl's Croome & Hill Croome memorial.
