The church lychgate was erected in 1920 as a war memorial. On the interiors
of the four wooden beams that support the roof are the following inscriptions:
IN PROUD AND GRATEFUL MEMORY
OF THOSE FROM THIS PARISH
WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES IN
THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918
W. BARNES G. BRUCE
W. BOWLD W. PERKINS
T. PERKINS J. COURT
W. HUNT W. RUSSELL
and on the exterior of one of the beams (on the side facing the church) is this:
